When arriving at Stuttgart Airport there are likely a few things that you want to know. Perhaps you are hungry, or want to have something to drink. Perhaps you want to find some information about the area or transfers. We have listed some of the services and amenities available at the airport.

Smoking at Stuttgart Airport

The information we can find tells us that smoking is prohibited in the terminal building and there are designated smoking areas to be found outside the terminals. However, there is also information that says that there are smoking booths available on airside, available to passengers from all four terminals. This information is however subject to change without further notice and it might not be current.

For arriving passengers we recommend waiting until on landside and outside.

WiFi at Stuttgart Airport

The airport offers free WiFi for up to three hours through the network "AIRPORT-FREE-WIFI". After connecting, open up a website and press online on the HotSpot page you are redirected to.

Transfers at Stuttgart Airport

There are several ways to transfer from Stuttgart Airport to the center of Stuttgart city. Transfers are also available to many other destinations locally, regionally, nationally and even internationally.

Rental Cars - Car rental companies are located in the public area of Terminal 3. Walk-ups are usually available during the vendors opening hours, although all of them might not offer it. It is usually recommended to book the vehicle in advance to make sure there is one available and ready for you upon your arrival. See and compare all rental car companies at Stuttgart Airport.

Buses - Buses depart from the Stuttgart Airport Busterminal, SAB, which is located on the ground level underneath parking garage P14 located across from the east corner of Terminal 4. The bus terminal has a kiosk selling travel necessities, a bistro, ticket counters, toilets and a heated waiting room. There are three lanes with 18 platforms. Platforms 1, 2 and 3 are dedicated to local and regional bus services while platforms 4-18 are used for national and international bus services, as well as for occasional bus services that are not scheduled. The journey to central Stuttgart takes approximately 30 minutes.

A night bus is available during the later evening and the earlier morning hours.

Taxis - Taxi ranks are located outside the terminals' arrivals areas. A pop-up office for Taxi Auto Zentrale Stuttgart is located in Terminal 1's Arrivals sector to help with the organization of taxi trips, child seats and more. See more information about taxis at Stuttgart Airport.

The journey to the center of Stuttgart takes approximately 25 minutes and will cost around 35€.

Trains - The airport train stations are located in Terminal 1 and in Terminal 3. They connect the airport with the main train station, Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof, in Stuttgart city center.

The journey takes just under 30 minutes and stretches over 2 tariff zones.

Trams - The tram stop is located 5 minutes, on foot, from the terminal complex. Cross the car park opposite the terminals' center as well as Flughafenstrasse to get to it.

The trams operate between every 10 and 30 minutes during weekdays and weekend day time hours. The journey takes around 30 minutes from the airport to Stuttgart Central Station, Hauptbahnhof.

Shuttles - Shuttles can be pre-booked through Hofmann Bus + Taxi. The company operates out of the airport and will be informed about any flight delays.

Rideshares - Rideshare companies are available at the airport.

Carsharing - Carsharing options are available at the airport.

Airport Medical Center at Stuttgart Airport

The airport's medical center is open Monday-Thursday from 8.00 to 16.00 (4pm), and Friday from 8.00 to 14.00 (2pm) as well as by appointment. It is closed on the weekends. The medical center is located in the public sector of the Departures area in Terminal 1.

Pharmacy at Stuttgart Airport

A pharmacy is located in the public sector of Terminal 2's Departures area. It is open from 8.00 to 19.00 (7pm) Monday - Friday, and from 8.00 to 14.00 (2pm) on Saturday and Sunday.

Observation Deck at Stuttgart Airport

This is where visitors can watch the planes take off and land, and see how the jets dock with the passenger boarding bridges.

The Observation Deck is located in the outdoor area's public sector.

Children can enjoy the mini-airfield and pedal-powered aircrafts available for their usage and fun. Taxiways are drawn on the ground so the little pilots can find their parking position or copy the big planes' movements on ground.

The entrance is free of charge, and it is open from 8.00 to 21.00 (9pm) every day of the week.

Casinos at Stuttgart Airport

Fairplay Automaten are casinos that can be found in Terminal 3 as well as in Terminal 4, in the public sector of the arrivals areas.

Adult guests are welcome and all gamblers are offered free beverages.

The casinos are open from 6.00 to 22.30 (10.30pm) every day of the week.

Photo Booth at Stuttgart Airport

Fotofix Fotoautomat can be found in the public sector of Terminal 2's Departures area. Here travelers or visitors can take funny pics to remember the journey or pics for some official documents.

It is open at all times.

Kids Areas at Stuttgart Airport

Kids areas can be found in two locations of Terminal 3 and in one location of Terminal 4. In Terminal 3 one is located in the public sector of the Arrivals area and in the public sector of the View area (where the Observation Deck is located), and in Terminal 4 it is located in the public sector of the Departures area.

In these areas we find various amusement rides for children.

The areas are usually open at all times, but can occasionally be closed for maintenance or cleaning.

Massage Chairs at Stuttgart Airport

Massage chairs are available for visitors to use in the public sector of Terminal 3's Arrivals area. The massage chairs massage from the neck to the calfs for a fee placed in the coin machine attached to the chairs.

The massage chairs are open for use at all times as long as they are not being used by someone else at the time. It is a great way to loosen up before or after a flight.

Tourist Information at Stuttgart Airport

A tourist information desk where visitors and locals alike can ask for information about the city and the region, book hotel rooms and round trips, buy tickets for a variation of short as well as long distance transportation, and more is located in the public sector of the Arrivals area in Terminal 3.

The tourist information desk is open Monday - Friday from 10.00 to 13.30 (1.30pm), and from 14.15 (2.15pm) to 18.00 (6pm).

ATMs at Stuttgart Airport

ATM/cash machines are found in several locations of the airport's terminals.

In Terminal 1 we find Bankautomat BW-Bank as well as Bankautomat Reisebank in the public sector of the Arrivals area. In the Departures area we find Bankautomat Reisebank in the public sector and Bankautomat Postbank inside the security area.

In Terminal l3 we find Bankautomat BW-Bank, Bankautomat Volksbank and Bankautomat Reisebank in the Departure area's public sector.

Currency Exchange at Stuttgart Airport

ReiseBank offers up to 100 different currencies to travelers. Their counter is located in the public sector of the Arrivals area in Terminal 1.

They also offer the purchase of a ReiseBank Mastercard for a cashless journey. The credit card can be used for purchases, withdrawals and more.

The counter's opening hours are from 8.00 to 19.00 (7pm) every day of the week.

Food and Beverages at Stuttgart Airport

The airport has several points of food and beverages available for visitors and travelers. The airside interconnects all of the terminals which means that all establishments, no matter where on airside they are located, are available to all passengers that have cleared the security control.

There are also several establishments available in the public sectors of the airports.

Shopping at Stuttgart Airport

The public areas as well as the secured area have a variety of shops available for travelers with a variety of items available for purchase, including electronics, books, beauty products, snacks, and clothing.
